Cabin Sole
Cabin sole was done for. After 30 years of moisture and not been sealed or varnished, the plywood layers were coming apart. I was able to peel each panel and use it as a template. I ordered 3 sheets of 1/4" Teak and Holy floor. Owning a flooring company, I had access to vinyl roll goods (lonseal and Amtico), laminate and other look alike's. But I still love the color and richness of the true sliced teak wood. So I ordered 3 sheets of flooring and 2 sheets of teak to redo all the cabinets. I sealed the back of every panel and the sides with several coats of varnish after sealing it with a sealer coat.I made 1/4 round from mahogany flooring I had left over from a large job. This trimmed all the edges nicely.
The original sole was attached with clear silicone. I had to scrape all the floors with a razor blade in order to get a clean fibreglass to receive the new sole.
Sorry, floor needed to be cleaned before pictures
New panels installed and trimmed, ready for the final coat. The runners for the bulkhead door are in but the plugs need to be trimmed.
Cabin sole sanded and prepped for varnish coat. Needs to be tacked clean.Jeff making his way down the main cabinUnder the Nav table
