HUNTER 37 CUTTER
The Front Cabin
Very little wall carpet used. Trimmed in teak. New 110v light and reading lights with LED bulbs.
The final look. Very pleased with the new teak cabinet. The old plywood was delaminating  so I replaced it with new, however it is hard to match the 30 year old doors color, however after many test, the Cabot Stain, Australian Timber oil was the best match. It is a stain but also leaves a semi gloss finish on the wood. I liked it so much, I used it on the rest of the unfinished teak on all the bulkheads and doors.
Painted the wall paper with a creamy color latex paint. Learned to sew and made new curtains. Installed new aluminum curtain tracks.
Wall painting in Van Gogh "Fishing boats on the beach at St.Mary's"
New cabin sole with 1/4 round mahogany molding. The center cabinet door houses the 20 gallon sanitation tank with pump.
The wall stinky herculon cloth was stripped off the walls. Found rain water in forward locker. Found all leaks and re bedded all deck hardware.
All cabinets were taken out and new Teak Plywood used to re make them. Only re used doors. Liked the interior look of the Endeavours so installed wood ribs and insulated between with foam boars and bubble foil. installed plywood and teak battens on the walls. Makes the cabin a lot warmer.
Taking apart the cabinThat nasty wall cloth. Reminded me of Archie Bunkers lazy boy chair. It smelled too. My multitool made quick work of it.Found a pool. traced the leak to the wire that powers the navigation light on the pulpit. The wire was not sealed as it entered the pulpit pipe.Added ribs to the side and later on glassed them inUsed 1" styrofoan on the walls along with bubble foil. It makes it a lot warmer and quieter.
These are the bow's cabin bulkhead, and cabinet face. The other item is the port side cushion backrest.
You can see what 30 years of water intrusion will do to plywood.

All was made out of 1/2" one face Teak plywood. I ordered 1/4" Teak plywood and laminated it with contact glue to 1/2" cabinet grade plywood. The only reason was to save on shipping costs and material costs. Also, I needed 1/4" material to cover the fiberglass under the bunk beds in the main cabin. I was able to cut all the new pieces out of 2 full sheets of Teak.
